Thomas Joseph Hays

Thomas Joseph Hays | February 17, 1981 - December 8, 2006

Thomas Joseph Hays, a life long resident of Lower Merion and Narberth, PA., died Friday December 8, 2006 at his home in Narberth, of an epileptic seizure in his sleep. He was 25. Tom was an active volunteer fireman for the Merion Fire Company of Ardmore and Narberth Fire Company. Tom became an outstanding driver and operator of the company's apparatus and served as Treasurer of the Active Members Club. He would regularly fill in any open shifts and would give of his time during the holiday season so our paid men could spend time at home with their families. Year in and year out, Tom was always in the top five in drills and fire calls. Tom spent a short time in Ardmore, but has left us a lifetime of memories.

John DeBella | 102.9 MGK

John DeBella stops in at the Main Line Times for a visit with a radio contest winner. DeBella was the number one radio personality and DJ in Philadelphia on WMMR until Howard Stern came and defeated him in the ratings. He wound up working on the same station Stern was working at (with Stern's approval). You can now catch his weekday morning show (5:30-9am) on Philadelphia's Classic Rock station 102.9 WMGK.

Radnor Shooting

Police investigators tags evidence at the scene of yesterday's shooting in Radnor Township. Police said they received a report of a prowler at around 3:15 a.m. and that the man shot at them when they attempted to question him. He also later fired on Lower Merion Township police after they arrived as backup, police said. The gunman fired about 10 shots at police, but no officers were hit, according to reports.

Villanova University's south campus was on lockdown most of Wednesday morning as police searched the grounds for a gunman who opened fire on three Radnor officers in nearby Bryn Mawr.

The gunman remains at large despite an intensive manhunt that involved helicopters and SWAT teams.
